Arizona Coalition of Reason

Arizona Coalition of Reason (ArizonaCOR) is a group of like-minded member organizations from throughout Arizona that share a worldview grounded in reason over superstition, and scientific truth over revealed truth.

Purpose of ArizonaCOR

The purpose of ArizonaCOR is to connect, support, organize, and strengthen the community of Arizona individuals living god-free.

Individuals who do not believe in a god or gods are not alone! Various polls indicate that approximately 15% of Americans do not profess a belief in a god(s) and/or identify themselves as “not religious.” With approximately 6 million Arizonans, it can be estimated that there are approximately 900,000 Arizonans, and over half a million Phoenix area residents living god-free. That means that more than 1 in every 10 of our neighbors, coworkers, and family members are living god-free.

ArizonaCOR provides these individuals with information, support, and a sense of community. Additionally, ArizonaCOR gives member organizations and their individual members a way to combine their voice with others who are ready to move society forward with a firm reliance on reason and humanity.

Requirements to be a member organization

Each ArizonaCOR member organization is unique and diverse in its membership as well as its goals and purpose. The only common bond required of member organizations is to be free from a belief in god(s). Each group is composed of individual members who choose to self-identify in many different ways, including atheist, humanist, freethinker, agnostic, as well as other non-theistic terminology.

The coalition itself does not represent member organizations, but instead functions as an umbrella organization to provide information pertaining to the various non-theistic groups in the Phoenix area and across the state.
